David Taylor, Flint Director and BSIF representative attended the annual BSIF networking day on 26 September, within the luxurious grounds of Heythrop Park, in Oxfordshire.
Some of the party played golf on the championship golf course whilst others in the group pitted their wits against each other in hovercrafts, powerturns, pistol shooting or falconry.
Arguably the most successful part of the event was the gala dinner where the charity auction raised £3,000; this money will be put to other donations already received to make a total of £5,610 for Mesothelioma UK. The charity must raise £220,000 each year to continue its work, so every penny is vital to help them try and prevent this horrible cancer from developing.
David Taylor commented: “It’s important that we at Flint keep talking to BSIF members to make sure that we’re always up-to-date on current issues and events such as this make the process much easier and more pleasurable. It was great to see many of the friends that we’ve made again.”
